Here at Goslotto.co.za, we love nothing more than betting on the Russian Gosloto. Perhaps, occasionally, we delve into betting on other international lotteries such as the UK 49’s, France Loto, Health Lottery or others. However, we very rarely talk about the local South African Lotteries.

Betting vs Ticket Buying

Gosloto and other international lucky numbers that South Africans love to bet on are fixed-odds betting products. This means, you select the number of balls you want to bet on prior to the draw and you typically win less (but have much higher chances of winning).

Ticket buying, such as Lotto South Africa, is when you are buying a ticket for a draw.

   • Our Opinion When the jackpot rolls over, this is the best value.

2. Lotto Plus 1

   • Price to Play: An additional R2.50 per board when playing Lotto.
   • Odds of Winning Any Prize: Similar to the main Lotto draw.
   • Average Jackpot: Usually lower than the Lotto jackpot but depends on rollovers.

3. Lotto Plus 2

   • Price to Play: An additional R2.50 per board when playing Lotto Plus 1.
   • Odds of Winning Any Prize: Similar to Lotto and Lotto Plus 1.
   • Average Jackpot: Again, generally lower than Lotto and Lotto Plus 1.

4. PowerBall

   • Price to Play: Around R5.00 per board.
   • Odds of Winning Any Prize: Approximately 1 in 18.
   • Average Jackpot: Starts at a minimum of R5 million and can grow to substantial amounts with rollovers, often higher than Lotto jackpots.

5. PowerBall Plus

   • Price to Play: An additional R2.50 per board when playing PowerBall.
   • Odds of Winning Any Prize: Slightly better than the main PowerBall draw.
   • Average Jackpot: Tends to be less than the PowerBall jackpot but varies based on rollovers and ticket sales.

6. Daily Lotto

   • Price to Play: Around R3.00 per board.
   • Odds of Winning Any Prize: Approximately 1 in 7.6.
   • Average Jackpot: Varies daily since the jackpot is divided among all winners at the top tier, but usually it’s in the tens of thousands of Rand.

7. SportStake

   • Price to Play: Usually R2.00 for a board.
   • Odds of Winning Any Prize: Varies greatly depending on the number of players and the results of the football matches.
   • Average Jackpot: Prizes depend on the pool of money from ticket sales and the number of players who correctly predict the outcomes.

8. Raffle

   • Price to Play: Typically around R20.00 per raffle ticket.
   • Odds of Winning Any Prize: Varies with each raffle as it depends on the number of tickets sold and prizes available.
